Crib Bedding brand review: Wendy Belissimo. Wendy Belissimo, a designer who has been around for quite a while now, is bringing her newest crib bedding designs exclusively to Buy Buy Baby. Wendy has designed both the high end, expensive crib bedding and an affordable line with dearly departed Babies R Us (we remember the cute black and yellow bee pattern).
With this new collection, she is leaning heavily toward simple patterns with gray as the predominant neutral plus accent colors of pink, navy, butter yellow and teal. Simple animals like elephants, whales and owls adorn the quilts and are matched with graphical chevrons, medallions and hexagons.
The concept with this bedding is to mix and match (hence all the options have some gray in them). We like this concept Wendy with a la carte sheets, blankets, and crib skirts. Prices range from $18 for sheets up to $70 for quilts so you won’t be breaking the bank to get Belissimo’s sweet stylings. Sheets are 100% cotton with elastic all around. If you want an idea of the cost for a three-piece set of sheet/skirt/quilt, you’ll spend about $133. Definitely affordable.
Accessories abound including changing pad covers ($18), crib skirts ($45), throw pillows ($20; not for the crib), plush blankets with cute appliques ($25), wall plaques ($25), mobiles ($50), sleep gowns ($17), footie pajamas($20), and diaper bags.
Overall, parents seem pleased with the Wendy Belissimo bedding at Buy Buy Baby. The few complaints we found had more to do with disappointment in the mobile than the bedding (it was broken or two loud or sounded weird). So as long as you stay away from the mobiles, we’ll give Wendy Belissimo’s newest bedding collection our recommendation. Rating: B+
