The choices for American made nursery furniture just narrowed—Rumble Tuff told dealers last month that they are ceasing domestic production of their nursery furniture and moving to an all-import line.
According to a company statement, Rumble Tuff blamed “fuel, insurance and employee costs” for the change. As a result, the company discontinued all their American-made furniture collections (such as the Shaker and Classic series); now only the imported Milcreek, Ashlyn and European lines will remain.
This basically leaves Stanley’s Young America line as the only made in the USA nursery furniture—and Stanley only makes dressers in the USA (cribs are imported).
I’m so upset. I wanted to get a hutch to go with my castle dresser once my son gets older. I didn’t get the hutch with my daughter once we found out we were having another child – I figured I would get it once I was done with the changing pad. Before reading this here – I went to look for the furniture to tell my cousin about it who is expecting – bummer!!!

I bought a twin bed, dresser and bedside table in the Classic series three years ago. Now I am ready for my boys to share a room and returned to the store to order another bed and dresser, only to be told the company is out of business. Very annoying and completely disappointing.

A total pain. I am in the same situation with Heather. Now, I’ll end up having to buy a whole new set for the girls’ room and end up with two or three rumbletuff pieces that won’t serve any purpose in any room in my house. Total bummer.

I bought a crib on clearance two years ago – now I need to convert to a toddler bed. I did not receive the assembly instructions as it was mostly assembled…now I am unable to find assembly instructions anywhere. (My bad for not realizing I needed them…first time parent stupidity.) I did buy the rails to convert to the full size bed at the time I purchased the crib – THANK GOODNESS!

Very bummed about Rumble Tuff. I bought a dresser 12 years ago in frosted maple and was able to match a dresser/hutch 8 yrs after that when I was pregnant with my 3rd baby. Now I am ready to purchase a twin bed to match everything only to find out RT is out of business. This stinks. Frosted maple is a hard/impossible finish to match. Don’t know what I am going to do.

They are back in business and manufacturing in the USA. Great Beginnings in Bethesda, MD just ordered their samples, but haven’t received them yet.

Is it true that RT is back in business? Does anyone have any contact info? I have 4 pieces in frost/candlelight and was hoping to get the matching desk, hutch and bookcase when my daughter was older. Will purchase now if I have to.

RT is AVAILABLE AGAIN! A former employee bought their furniture designs, their name and most of their equipment and, along with many other former RT employees, has set up a factory not far from where RT was for years. (Don’t confuse RT furniture with RumbleTuff. The company was originally called RumbleTuff, but the changing pad division and the furniture division split apart years ago. The changing pad company kept the name RumbleTuff and the furniture continued under the name RT Manufacturing.)
Samples are being sent out to stores and production is under way. They are producing most RT pieces in most RT colors with excellent quality. Hard Maple, etc. etc. etc. They also have invented a new slatless-bumperless crib which they are making at their U.S. factory! This will be available in Greenguard-Certified finishes within a few weeks.

Yes, its true!!!
I was in the same situation. Bought a crib, dresser, and book shelf. Unfortunately, we are all living the affects of a poor economy. But, I can’t say enough good things about this company – RumbleTuff/Endurring Designs. When the local boutique pulled up shop in the middle of the night; I was able to contact Rumbletuff when I had a problem with a dresser. They were very accommodating. I was very disappointed when I realized the company had switched gears to survive in a struggling economy b/c I never purchased my bed rails. I was able to contact Rumbletuff, now operating under Enduring Designs, and they are going to send me my bed rails. So Great!!!! For all of those of you that are still looking for coordinating pieces – please call this company to get your pieces. They are making there way back in this struggling market. And how I would love to see a USA manufacturing company make it, and not go down or surrender to the Chinese. It may cost a bit more but its so worth it when we can support our own and trust in our own products!!!!!

Okay so I have tried to go to the web address and that is as far as I can go. I would really like to order two night stands and another dresser for my boys’ bedroom. We purchased other pieces years ago, but I really want to add to it now! If anyone can help me or inform me a little better of what is going on with this company that would be awesome!

I’m desperately trying to find any evidence that this manufacturer still exists — I’m trying to find a twin bed for my younger son to match my older son’s RT bedroom set. (When we bought the set in 2005 of course the store told us RT was reputable, would be around forever, etc.) Assuming they do not still exist, does anyone have any info on manufacturers’ products that are similar to/compatible with RT products?
Thanks!
Debbie
Rumble Tuff is out of business, sorry to say! Westwood is a comparable brand we’d suggest you consider!
