Joovy is best known for its strollers, but its Nook high chair ($84 to $120) is worth a look. Joovy refreshed it with better tubing, a squared off seat, travel handle and submarining protection attached to the seat. (You might see the most recent version referred to as the New Nook). The tray is quite large with three depth adjustments–the old version was way too far away from baby.
Also the tray swings out and the chair can be folded with the tray attached. It also comes with a second tray and has a five point harness, plush seat cushion and compact fold. The chair doesn’t come with wheels, but for $120 this is a high chair we can definitely recommend.
Joovy’s most recent high chair is the Foodoo, with recline, leatherette cushion, adjustable leg rest, eight adjustable heights, three position tray and tray insert. Priced at around $200, it comes with a standing fold. Parents note it’s easy to assemble, but extending the foot rest or inserting the tray can require a bit more force than parents like.
Joovy also has a convertible chair (baby to toddler) called the HiLo with a unique flippable seat. The plastic seat sits in a solid beach frame with dishwasher safe tray, five-point harness and wheels. Price? An astonishing $380 to $400.
At that price, few readers have tried this chair—the few that have said it is easy to clean, but dissenters say the tray is too small and it doesn’t fold. For $380, it is overpriced. This high chair is no longer pictured on Joovy’s web site, but is available still online.
