Best Overall Performance: EX-25 Automatic Heavy Duty Electric Stapler

Why buy an electric stapler? Won’t a manual stapler do just as well?

Electric stapler are great for bigger projects—the models recommend in this article can handle 25-45 sheets . . . much more than a manual stapler can staple!

If you have arthritis or limited hand strength, electric staplers are an excellent solution.

Electric staplers are also great for controlling the spread of germs—they are touchless!

For the best overall performance in electric staplers, we think EcoElectronix’s EX-25 is the best bet for most folks. It combines the best features and reliability. Here’s more:

What We Liked

• Pre-loaded with staples!

• 25 sheet capacity.

• Works on power adapter or 6 AA batteries (not included).

• Easy to use.

• Can adjust where the staple goes—between .25″ to 1.5″ distance from edge of paper.

What Needs Work

• A bit tricky to reload staples. The staple tray doesn’t pop out on its own—you have pull it out with a bit of force.

• Pricey.

• Loud.

Best Heavy Duty Stapler: Bostitch Impulse 45 Sheet Electric Stapler

If you need to staple 40 pages at a time or need a heavy duty stapler that needs to work day-in and day-out (such as a pharmacy), we think the best bet is Bostitch’s Impulse stapler. We like the overall design—unlike other models, it doesn’t need to retract after every staple. That makes it more efficient and fast.

What We Liked

• Simple to use!

 Includes 500 staples.

• 45 sheet capacity.

• Refill alert indicator.

• Push-button reloading is simple. The staple retracts fully for reloading—that’s a plus over the EcoElectronix model recommended earlier.

• Staple remover included.

• Suction cups on bottom keep it stable.

What Needs Work

• Must use special Bostitch staples. It doesn’t use regular staples. Instead, you must use Bostitch Power Crown B8 Staples.

• Pricey.
