Is the YoYo stroller worth it?

Yes.

Is the YoYo stroller worth it? Yes, Babyzen YoYo strollers are worth the investment, in our opinion (we have spent the last 30 years researching and writing about baby gear—read more about us). Three reasons:

1. Ultra-lightweight and travel friendly. At 13.7 lbs, the Babyzen YoYo is among the most lightweight strollers on the market—and the ultracompact fold (with one-hand) enables it to fit in an overhead bin in most airplanes.

2. Premium materials. All-wheel suspension give this stroller a smooth ride, while the compact wheels provide maneuverability.

3. Use from birth. A newborn pack enables the YoYo to be used from birth; car seat adapters are also available.

Another factor: resale value. Unlike strollers from mass-market brands like Graco, the Babyzen YoYo can be resold for about 50% to 60% of the retail price (depending on the condition). Read more about Babyzen’s history on our sister site, StrollerWiki.

Does the YoYo stroller go on sale?

Rarely.

Babyzen limits the number of dealers and tightly controls prices. That said, we’ve seen a few discounts during these events:

1. Nordstrom Sales. The Babyzen YoYo was discounted about 11% during the 2023 Nordstrom spring sale. While it was not on sale during the last Nordstrom Anniversary sale, it is always a possibility. See sale details here. FYI: Amazon matched Nordstrom’s pricing during the sale.

2. When a new model is introduced. In 2020, Babyzen revised the YoYo with a new version, dubbed the YoYo2. (The minor changes included a faux leather handlebar and an added safety strap for hills). We saw limited discounts on the old YoYo when the YoYo2 debuted.

While Babyzen does not revise the YoYo on a regular schedule, it may be worthwhile to check for discontinued versions for lower prices.

Does the YoYo stroller come with a rain cover?

No.

While the original YoYo did come with a rain cover, the current model (officially dubbed the Babyzen YoYo2) does not. A rain cover is now sold as an optional accessory.

Does the YoYo stroller come with a travel bag?

Yes.

The Babyzen YoYo includes a travel bag.

Does the YoYo stroller recline?

Yes.

The Babyzen YoYo has a multi-position recline. However, one criticism of this stroller is that even when the seat is in its most upright position, the child still sits at a somewhat reclined angle.

Is the YoYo suitable for a newborn?

Yes & No.

The Babyzen YoYo is designed for babies six months and up. However, a newborn pack enables the YoYo to be used from birth; car seat adapters are also available. These are optional accessories that add to the price, however.

Where is the YoYo stroller made?

China.

The Babyzen YoYo is manufactured in China.

Is the Yoyo parent facing?

No.

The Babyzen YoYo‘s seat faces out, not toward the parent.

Is the yoyo compatible with UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat?

No.

The Babyzen YoYo does not work with the UPPAbaby MESA series infant car seats.

Babyzen sells one car seat adapter that works with the following infant car seat manufacturers and models:

Clek Liing.

Cybex Aton series.

Maxi-Cosi Mico series.

Nuna Pipa series: PIPA, PIPA RX, PIPA Lite, PIPA Lite R, PIPA Lite RX, PIPA Lite LX and PIPA urbn.
