Reader Lori G. writes in today with a story about finding an infant car seat for her Infiniti:
Good Morning,
I am writing to give feedback on a car seat I just purchased.
We are expecting our first child and wanted a very safe seat. We went with the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio (can’t remember how to spell it) Infant Car Seat to go with the Pliko P3 stroller. I drive a 2011 Infinity G37 and upon installation discovered that this seat just doesn’t fit snugly or securely in either the center back or passenger back seat in the car.
Wanting to be sure I hadn’t installed it imporperly I attended a car seat safety check with someone who does car seat installation inspections for a living. She tried all the tricks of the trade and couldn’t get this seat to fit securely either. The unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach returned and I immediately returned to the store and returned the seat and stroller.
Upon conducting some online research I came across a document from Infinity that recommended the Chicco Key Fit Infant Car Seat or Key Fit 30 Infant Car Seat for the 2007-2011 Infinity G Sedan. This was the only infant car seat on the recommendation list. I immediately checked the recommendations in Baby Bargains and found that it met my standards so I immediately purchased this seat. Upon installation I found it to fit snugly and securely and am looking forward to my next car seat safety check. I feel much better about this car seat and the best part is that the Chicco car seat and stroller travel system are half the price of the Peg Perego travel system! And if you use a 20% off coupon at BRU for these items then is is less than half the price of the Peg!

FYI: The link PDF above came from Infiniti’s Canada web site—not sure if this is a Canada-specific recommendation, but since the Canadian version of the Infiniti is virtually the same as the US one, we assume it would be the same.
Car makers don’t usually recommend specific model/brands for car seats, so we thought this was interesting!
I too have to Infiniti G37 (2010) and my daughter’s Chicco Keyfit30 does not fit. I am trying to figure something out so the base doesn’t slide more than 1″.
