Car seat maker Sunshine Kids has uncorked a new name: Diono. As one of our staffers said upon hearing the new moniker, “Well, that screams baby products!”
Along with the new name, Diono plans to roll out several updates to the formerly Sunshine Kids car seats. Among the biggest news: the Radian will now work from birth to belt-positioning booster, enabling parents to remove the five-point harness for older kids. The Radian will work up to 120 pounds in belt-positioning mode. Watch for the new Radians to debut in fall (November). We hear there will be three new models: the Radian R100, Radian R120 and Radian RXT, replacing the 65, 80 and XTSL respectively.
It appears Diono is working on a new web site here. We’ll meet with the folks from Diono/Sunshine Kids next month and will update our review in the car seat section shortly!
Love the new DIONO company.
Was sunshine kids bought out?
Nope, same company. New name!
