Here's a problem many companies would like to have in this economy: demand so outweighs supply, you are running out of product to sell!
Such is the dilemma facing Baby Jogger, which sent out a notice to baby store retailers last week that they are having "factory delays" for their hot-selling strollers. Particularly hard to find are the City Mini's, which have been backordered until October or November (depending on the color). Yep, that means if you order a City Mini today, you can cool your heals until Thanksgiving for delivery.
The City Mini isn't the only Baby Jogger model seeing spot shortages. According to a "Baby Jogger Availability" spreadsheet emailed to dealers last week, the City Elite Double stroller in Black won't be back in stock until late September or early October. The City Select in Onyx is out of stock, not due back until late in August. Various accessories like car seat adapters are also hard to come by, as is the Pram accessory (backordered until December!).
Baby Jogger has struggled with this problem for most of the year, according to both baby store retailers and consumers we've interviewed (some who've been frustrated with long waits for orders).
So the lesson here is if you want a Baby Jogger stroller, plan in advance!
