Best Baby Bath Tub

Mesh sling for newborns is most helpful
We loved this tub—it is easy to use and clean. The design is excellent. Note the slip resistant headrest and reclined angle for babies. One minor quibble: it can be hard to drain.

Best Baby Bath Tub: The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn to Toddler Tub

After trying out a dozen different baby bath tubs, we think the First Year’s Sure Comfort is the best bet for most folks.

This affordable simple tub is designed to grow with baby. It includes a sling to better fit a newborn. The sling can later be removed for older babies and toddlers. The tub has padding attached directly to the tub for older babies.

Once your child is sitting up, flip the tub from the reclined side to the straight back side.

Here’s more on why this one is a top pick:

What We Liked

• Adjustable mesh sling for newborns. You’d think this would be a standard feature for baby bath tubs—after all, newborns need more support. Surprisingly, it is not as common as you’d think! We like that this tub has it.

• Easy to use and clean.

• Fits in most large kitchen sinks. That’s a nice height to give baby a bath!

• Sling is machine washable and dryable.

• Sturdy.

• Toy compartment.

What Needs Work

• Hard to drain. To drain this tub, you have to lift one end of the tub up—or turn it upside down.

• Sling is sometimes missing. The tub we purchased had a sling, but we see reports that, for some reason, others didn’t get a sling with their tub.

• Safety tag on sling isn’t comfortable. We know this tag has to be visible for safety, but it would be great if it were softer/more comfortable.

Best Minimalist Bath Tub: Angelcare Baby Bath Support

If space is at a premium, we would recommend the Anglecare Baby Bath Support . . . a minimalist bath tub support that works well. The ergonomic design can support a newborn or baby in a single basin sink or tub. Here’s more on why this one is a good bet:

What We Liked

• Easy to use and easy to clean.

 Built-in hook to hang dry.

• Affordable.

• Mesh support is mildew resistant.

• Easy to drain.

• Works best in long, single sinks. Farmhouse-style sinks, for example.

What Needs Work

• Doesn’t work well in double sinks.

• Can slide around in a tub.

• Surface could be a bit more comfortable.

Skip Hop is one of our favorite baby gear brands, thanks to their overall quality and value. And their baby bath tub doesn’t disappoint. In fact, it is one of the cutest designs out there—plus it functions well at its core mission: getting baby clean. Here’s more:

• Mesh sling for newborns is machine washable.

• No-slip interior texture.

• Lightweight and easy to use.

• Easy to clean.

• Super cute and social media ready.

• Too big for a sink.

• Lacks no-skid bottom.

Best Travel Baby Bath Tub

Easy on the wallet
We liked this lightweight baby bath tub that inflates like a pool float. Great for road trips. Best for babies can that sit up (6 months+). Phthalate free vinyl.

Best Travel Baby Bath Tub: Mommy’s Helper Inflatable Bath Tub

If plan to travel with baby, it’s hard to take along a regular plastic tub. Our pick: Mommy’s Helper Inflatable Bath Tub. It’s affordable and lightweight . . . perfect for a road trip.

What We Liked

• Inflates quickly. There are three inflation valves—one for sides, one for bottom and one for saddle.

• Lightweight.

• Affordable.

What’s Needs Work

• Not for newborns. The maker suggests this tub for babies 6-24 months. Since there is no sling to support a newborn, it isn’t a good choice for babies under six months.

• No suction cups on bottom to hold in position. Hence it can slide around in a tub if you’re not careful.

• Deflates slowly.

• Not everyone likes the saddle horn—but you don’t have to inflate it if you don’t want to.

• Leaks. Like any inflatable product, you have to careful storing it or it can develop leaks.
