Best Cereal Snack: Gerber Puffs Cereal Snack
It was a snack smackdown! We had babies and their parents test out several healthy snacks to find the ones that tasted best. When it came to cereal snacks, the winner by a mile was Gerber Puffs Cereal Snacks.
These snacks come in two flavors: banana and strawberry apple. They are made of whole grains with 5 vitamins and minerals; no artificial flavors or sweeteners. The star shaped puff contains rice flour, whole wheat flour, whole grain oat flour, cane sugar, sunflower lecithin (fatty acids—natural and good for you), mixed tocopherols for freshness (less than 1%); vitamins E, B6, Niacinamide (also a B vitamin), B1 and Iron.
Other flavors include dried apple puree, banana flavoring and strawberry/apple flavoring; serving size is 60 pieces (12 servings per container).
What We Liked
• Very tasty, fruity flavor.
• Dissolve easily in baby’s mouth.
• Convenient packaging.
• Affordable.
What Needs Work
• Not organic.
• Contains added cane sugar.

Best Puffs Baby Snack: Happy Baby Organic Superfood Puffs
We tested several organic cereal puff snacks for baby and, honestly, they ranged from tasteless to awful. Happily, we found these snacks: Happy Baby’s Organic Superfood Puffs. They topped other organic snacks in our testing and feature a variety of flavors: purple carrot & blueberry (linked in this article), kale & spinach, sweet potato & carrot, strawberry & beet; banana & pumpkin, apple & broccoli.
What We Liked
• No added sugar. These puffs are sweetened by apple juice—which of course has naturally occurring sugar.
• Gluten free, Kosher.
• Tastes better than other organic snacks we tried!
• Affordable.
What Needs Work
• Only 2% of content is fruit or veggies.
• Hard and bland, said a few testers. This wasn’t the majority opinion, but if your baby tries Gerber’s cereal snacks first, they will probably prefer those given the sweeter flavor!
• Quickly go stale. Eat ’em up once you open the container as they don’t stay fresh long.

Dried fruit and yogurt snacks are all the rage today . . . but which can pass the baby taste test? Happy Baby’s Organic Yogies won, beating out several competitors on taste and texture.
What We Liked
• Great flavor.
• Portable. These snacks were easy to travel with and not messy.
