Best Sous Vide Container (No Lid): Rubbermaid Commercial Products Plastic Space Saving Square Food Storage Container
We love our sous vide—it is a handy kitchen gadget that makes cooking steaks and pork chops super easy (and tender). But most sous vides are sold without any accessories . . . like a container to hold the sous vide and meat! So what is the best sous vide container?
To find out, we tried out a dozen different containers to see what was easiest to use with out sous vide.
For the simplest no-lid container, we’d recommend Rubbermaid’s Space-Saving Square Food Storage Container.
Yes, this is a simple plastic container that is affordable—nothing fancy, but gets the job done!
What We Liked
• Thick and durable.
• Sturdy.
• Easy to clean.
• Excellent for use with a sous vide—the built-in handles make it easy to move it around.
• Dishwasher safe.
• Measurement marks on exterior.
What Needs Work
• Contains BPA. Yes, Rubbermaid used to make a version without BPA, but it wasn’t as strong as the previous model. So they went back to the tried and true version. We don’t think the BPA is an issue—when you use it for sous vide, the food inside the container is sealed in a bag . . . it never touches the container or water.
• Caution when using on certain countertops. Since this plastic container sits directly on a countertop, it may not be advisable to use it on certain laminate, wood or marble countertops—the heat can damage the surface. If this is a concern, see our recommendation later in this article for a sous vide container with a protective neoprene sleeve.
• No lid! You don’t need one—you can use aluminum foil to cover the container. However, if you really want a lid that is compatible with many sous vide models, we’d suggest the next pick.

Best Sous Vide Container With Lid: EVERIE Sous Vide Container
If you’d prefer a sous vide container with lid, we’d recommend EVERIE’s Sous Vide Container. Very well made, yet easy on the wallet. It worked well in our tests.
What We Liked
• Easy to use.
• Lid has a hinge with hole for attaching the Anova Nano sous vide (AN500-US00).
• Also works with Instant Pot.
• Large enough size for big cuts of meat.
• Holds heat well.
What Needs Work
• No measurement markings.
• Limited compatibility—can only be used with Anova Nano or Instant Pot sous vide models.
• Contains BPA.
Best Sous Vide Container Bundle

Best Sous Vide Container Bundle: HOMENOTE Sous Vide Container
This bundle is more than just a container—you also get a lid with a metal rack that can hold sous vide bags. Also included: a sleeve that insulates the container.
The sleeve is nice for a couple of reasons. By insulating the container, it enables the sous vide to reach the set temperature a few minutes faster. And the insulated sleeve protects counters or workspaces (unprotected plastic containers may damage laminate, marble or other countertops when heated by the sous vide).
What We Liked
• Complete bundle: container, lid, rack, insulated sleeve.
• Uses less energy than others (thanks to insulated sleeve).
• Sleeve can protect countertops that are vulnerable to heat.
• BPA free.
• Lightweight.
• Stainless steel rack keeps food bags submerged in water.
What Needs Work
• Isn’t compatible with some sous vide models. Check compatibility first before ordering.
• Neoprene sleeve gives off slight smell when heated—some of our testers said this was not pleasant. We didn’t think it was a big deal, but we know some folks are sensitive.

Best Tried & True Brand: Anova Precision Cooker Container
If you have an Anova sous vide, then getting a container from the same brand is a no brainer. Pricey, yes. But it is well designed and works well with Anova’s sous vides, of course!
What We Liked
• Silicone lid reduces vibration and noise.
• Good capacity.
• Raised base keeps it from damaging countertop.
• Integrated rack keeps food under water.
What Needs Work
• Could be easier to close the lid.
• Rack falls into water when sides expand. Yes, the integrated rack is a nice feature . . . but warmed water causes the sides to expand . . . and then the rack falls into the water!
