How We Found The Best Spicy Ramen
Let’s talk the best spicy ramen!
We took 8 brands of spicy ramen and put them to the test. For fans of spicy food, we measured the heat plus overall taste.
After using some milk to douse the heat, here are some caveats about these spicy ramen brands:
• Consider starting with one-third of the sauce packet. Even if you are a fan of spicy food, these spicy ramen noodles pack a punch! We suggest using a third of the packet and sampling first.
• If you have food allergies, you probably should skip spicy ramen. That’s because most of the brands included numerous allergens or were processed in facilities that also process allergens like shellfish and nuts. There are also surprise ingredients in some brands (coconut, egg whites, etc).
• Watch out for the sodium! If you are on a salt-restricted diet, spicy ramen won’t do you any favors—many brands we tried were loaded with sodium. How much? Like 1200+ mg per serving—that’s 55% of the recommended daily allowance in a single serving.
Now that the formalities are out of the way, here are the spicy ramen brands that topped our blind taste tests!
