What’s the best weighted blanket for kids? We tried out blankets of varying weights with kids to get their feedback. Then we asked our parent readers for their experiences. Which were most comfortable? Easiest to clean? Here are the ones we recommend. Safety alert: weighted blankets are NOT for babies or toddlers—they are NOT recommended for kids under age 5 or under 50 lbs. If your kid likes to chew things, do not use a weighted blanket. For children between ages 5 and 7, remove the weighted blanket once they have fallen a sleep. Remember that weighted blankets can be used for more than sleep—reading or relaxing are also great. We recommend you ask your pediatrician or family doctor if a weighted blanket is appropriate for your child.
