A reader today complained about a company we recommended in our book for shopping cart covers:

Just a quick note regarding Snazzy Baby and the owner, Kristy Wilson.
We placed an order for a cart cover in Jan of 2006. After SEVERAL weeks of unanswered emails, VM boxes that were full, no response, etc., we never did receive our cover. We ended up ordering one elsewhere.
The contact at the new company, and a gal from local children’s store stated that snazzybaby management was terribly unresponsive and difficult to do business with. For us, it was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
I noticed you mention them in the latest book and thought you should know about our saga!
Ultimately I filed a claim with our bank as a charge with no goods received. They contacted Kristy, the owner and she of course never responded to them either. The bank ended up crediting the charge. Not a fun process. It was a terrible experience and so disappointing. Her site is so cute and the covers are wonderful. I purchased ours from another supplier. Still the snazzy cover though. The gal I ended up buying it from told me that one she sold the last one she was no longer going to use snazzy as a supplier. My advice is to stay away from snazzy baby!
We will investigate this situation—meanwhile, we will suspend our recommendation of Snazzy Baby, since it appears they have new owners who aren’t providing the level of service we’d expect from a recommended merchant.

(She didn’t know about my experience with them). It took weeks to arrive (and it didn’t come in time for the baby shower, their site says it ships within 5 days) so she had to buy a different gift. So, when I read the article above, I went to the Better Business Bureau website and saw they have an F rating! No wonder. I would hope other sites and directories would check the bbb.org site before suggesting a company.
Their stuff is cute, but if I am paying that high of a price, I expect better service. These days, cute seat covers are easy to find. A dime a dozen! Customer service should be just as common.

I have phoned three times and sent an e-mail and have had NO response. If it has been credited to my visa, I am going to make sure it is removed. There are plenty of shopping cart covers out there, it doesn’t make sense to patronize this “company”. Personally, I have experienced very quick service from two different times. I can’t speak for the customer service because I did not ever need to contact them. The cover arrived within a few days, just in time for a friend’s baby shower gift. FYI.

Yes what a mess I also experianced similar things, and that Kristy Wilson is VERY dishonest we have repoted her to the BBB and she says there are new owners but it is still her on the voice mail, her site is cute and but misleading buyer beware.

Oh my goodness, if only I had found this information before I ordered from Snazzy Baby! They were very happy to take my order which I did by email (have yet to speak to a live person), and charge my card. However, 10 days later I have yet to receive my car seat cover. Gary at Snazzy Baby says it was shipped UPS on Jan. 21, but provided no tracking number. I can’t tell you how many times I have called and have yet to speak to anyone!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! My twins are due in 5 days and I am so disappointed that I may not have the 2nd cover. (got one from a friend, ordered a 2nd one)

Everybody out there that has been cheated by Kristy Wilson and Snazzy Baby should know that she has opened under a new company called Luluboo.com. It is the same company, I bought a cover from her and experienced the same situation no calls back,charged my Visa and never sent out the item, I finally had to dispute the charge and then did a little investigation and found out it is Kristy Wilson again! but now under Luluboo.com she is a fraud and a scam artist, very dishonest buyer beware!

This is all very interesting. Thank you for your suggestions. I got my cover from Itzy Ritzy, http://www.itzyritzy.com. Customer service was outstanding and my cover shipped out to me on the same day that I ordered it. I definitely recommend them.

It’s so funny reading all the above complaints. Yes, I too was ripped off from Luluboo. I ordered 2 car seat covers and they sent 2 totally different covers 1 month later! Then I sent them back asking for a credit because they stated in an email that they couldn’t produce that fabric anymore. They said they would return it because of that. They never did credit my credit card. I had my credit card company start the dispute and they said luluboo would give me a credit. So then I tried to order something different and never heard back from them. My credit card company will not help me because they said the company will give me a credit. I am out of money and have no product. The BBB cannot help either because luluboo is not a member with them. I would like to file a lawsuit against this company. They are ripping people off and getting away with it. Please let me know if anyone is interested in this lawsuit against luluboo. Thank you-

I have emailed the company numerous times and have not gotten a reply. I twittered luluboo and also just found the owner Kristie Wilson on Facebook and sent her a message there too. I tried to phone the company only to find that the phone is disconnected. I knew it was too good to be true, the item I ordered was $62 and the same item was over $100 on every other site.

Interestingly enough, I recieved a reply after I posted above. Email was from [email protected]. It said that the store is closed and refunds have been issued. I replied stating that my refund was not granted. Hope to hear something again soon.
