Young America by Stanley recently contacted us with a couple of corrections and updates to their review in the Baby Bargains book.
In the 10th edition of Baby Bargains, we complained that Stanley didn’t use premium hardware like self-closing drawer glides on its dressers. However, in 2012, Stanley did add this feature to its line.
When Stanley added in the new drawer glides, this eliminated the need for dust proofing of the drawers.
In the book, we erroneously reported that Stanley recently added corner blocks to its drawers. Actually, this feature has been as standard construction of the line since its first debut. We regret the errors and will correct both the online and book review for Young America to reflect the updated info.
Young America by Stanley also wrote to refute our point that about quality control and shipping damage. “Stanley has a state-of-the art method for packing its products that to our knowledge is not used anywhere else in the industry. That method is superior to standard cardboard and has resulted in measurably fewer freight related damage claims. As a consequence, Stanley’s customers have experienced a reduction in freight damage complaints.”
