Glenna Jean has notched over 30 years in the bedding biz by adapting to the times—their current line features bold patterns and bright color palettes.
Most Glenna Jean sets (three pieces: sheet, crib skirt and quilt) start at $205 and go up to $300. Glenna Jean still makes bumpers as add-ons to their sets (we don’t recommend bumpers) and shows most of the styles on their website with the bumpers.
Accessories like pillows, lamp shades, window valances and wall hangings are numerous for each design. Keep these soft bedding items well away from children.
Most of the sets are made in the US of 100% cotton with the exception of some of the trim. Higher priced sets (over $300) include luxury fabrics like taffeta, velvet and moiré. Most of the designs tend to be traditional and feminine, although we found a few “boy” designs and several mid-century modern graphical sets (see photo).
Fabric swatches are available from Glenna Jean for $5 per set and you can buy fabric by the yard on their web site. While we have had no complaints about shrinkage, note that Glenna Jean recommends washing all its bedding on the gentle cycle in cold water and lay flat to dry.
Glenna Jean also sells a lower priced line called Sweet Potato, which starts at $140 for a three piece set. We see a few of these for sale online, but don’t see them on Glenna Jean’s web site.
FYI: Glenna Jean is one of the few bedding manufacturers who makes nearly all its bedding in the US. Rating: B+
