No, this brand isn’t related to Child Craft, which used the Legacy brand on some of its nursery furniture for decades. Legacy Classic Kids (also known as LC Kids) is a North Carolina-based importer of bunk beds and teen furniture that launched in 1999 and then branched into nursery in 2008. They offering five collections with a variety of dressers, bookcases, armoires and side tables.
Made in Vietnam, the “grow with me” convertible cribs run $650 to $900, while dressers (Chinese-made) are $500 to $600. A crib set sold on BambiBaby.com that includes a 5-drawer dresser runs $1379 (see photo; dresser not included). Legacy Classic Kids dressers feature plywood drawers with corner blocks and dove-tail drawer joints. Some designs feature wood-on-wood drawer glides, while newer models feature metal glides with a ball bearing mechanism.
We liked the fact that the cribs feature metal spring mattress support.
Part of the Legacy Class nursery furniture is a collaboration with designer Wendy Bellissimo on her line of nursery furniture, reviewed separately here.
FYI: Legacy Classic Kids’ distribution is a bit limited so feedback is minimal. Bottom line: this brand offers neither innovative styling, nor amazing value. Rating: B-
