monitor:

Hi
guys,

I love
your book. It was an invaluable resource in planning for the arrival of my
baby.

We
wanted a video baby monitor and took your advice and purchased the MobiCam.

I thought throwing my feedback into the ring
might help you in guiding future buyers, so here
goes?

I hate my MobiCam? You did warn about
some of the issues I?m having.

? The biggest problem is the
feedback? I didn?t realize how many things operate on the 2.4 GHz
frequency. We have constant popping static sounds when the volume is up loud
enough to hear the baby.

? The LCD
screen is not an effective way to get ?at-a-glance? reassurance that
the baby is ok. You need to be looking perpendicular to the screen in order to
see anything. Even though the other video monitors are bigger, I think it would
be better to not have to pick up the monitor and hold it in front of my face
each time I want to see what?s going
on.

? Again, you did warn about
this, but the batteries really don?t last? Why buy a small portable
unit without rechargeable
batteries?

? A small, but annoying
thing is that every time you unplug, or turn off, then on again, the receiver
goes back to channel 1. So if you find your unit works best on channel 3, each
time you turn the receiver on, you?ll have to channel back up to 3 because
the unit does not remember.

?
Another annoyance is that it doesn?t auto-detect day/night
lighting.

I
guess I needed to give a monitor a test run before realizing how important some
of this little things can be J.

Again, I love the book, but would like to see
MobiCam at more of a C/D rating instead of the A you give it in your book. It
would also be helpful to see a side by side comparison of all the video monitors
out there. The chart you have in the 6th edition doesn?t even include
?video? as one of the attributes.

Thanks!
