Is a Nuna Stroller Worth it?

Yes.

Yes, Nuna strollers are worth it, in our opinion (we have spent the last 30 years researching and writing about baby gear—read more about us). Three reasons:

1. Fit and finish. We judged the fit and finish of Nuna strollers to be superior overall—and on par with competitors in this price range.

2. Expanded use. Models like the Nuna Demi Grow allow you to add a second seat for a sibling, turning the single stroller into a double.

3. Resale value. Our analysis of stroller resale values indicate that most Nuna strollers hold about 50% of their value after three years, assuming normal wear and tear. Even though Nuna’s prices are high, you can recoup some of the investment by selling it when your children outgrow it.

Do Nuna Strollers Go on Sale?

Yes.

Yes, Nuna strollers do go on sale—at least two to three times per year. Here are the key sales:

1. Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Held every July, this sale typically features more than one Nuna stroller, at discounts ranging from 20% to 40%. See sale details here. We’ve also seen Nuna on sale during Nordstrom’s spring sales.

2. Black Friday/Cyber Monday. We have seen Nuna strollers discounted during this time of the year—check key retailers like Bloomingdales for deals.

3. When an older version is discontinued. Every 2-3 years, Nuna will update their stroller models. The older version is then discontinued—and usually discounted from 10% to 30%. FYI: Older versions are just as safe as the new one—sometimes there is just a fashion (color) change or other minor improvements to the new model. Granted this is hit or miss: strollers are introduced and discontinued without any specific schedule.

Is Nuna A Good Brand?

Yes.

Yes, Nuna is a reputable baby gear company that is based in Morgantown, PA. It was launched in 2008 by several ex-Graco alumni.

Although Nuna has had a safety recall in its high chairs, there have been no safety recalls in their strollers, as of this writing. There was a hack of their web site that exposed customer data in 2020-21. Read more about Nuna on our sister site, StrollerWiki.

Is a Nuna Stroller Good for Tall Parents?

Yes.

Yes, all Nuna strollers have height-adjustable handles, except the Nuna TRVL.

Height-adjustable handles are helpful for taller parents because most stroller handles are designed for the average height of a woman.

Is a Nuna Stroller Waterproof?

Yes and no.

The Nuna Demi Grow includes a rain cover. Other models have rain covers as an optional accessory.

Does a Nuna Stroller Convert From Single To Double?

Yes.

The Nuna Demi Grow converts from a single to a double stroller via a second seat (sold as an accessory). Nuna does not sell a stand-alone double stroller, as of this writing.

Where are Nuna Strollers Made?

China.

All Nuna strollers are made in China.

Why are Nuna Strollers So Expensive?

It is a luxury brand.

Nuna is a premium stroller brand that uses better quality components (wheels, suspension, fabric) than discount brands. The strollers also have various design touches that are the hallmark of luxury brands—for example, the Nuna MIXX has a “removable, reversible two-piece seat pad with a mesh summer seat” to keep a baby cooler in the summer months.

Nuna also has an eco-manufacturing focus, with the use of GOTS and Oeko-Tex certified fabrics.

Are Nuna Strollers Non-Toxic?

Yes.

Nuna does not use flame retardants in its fabrics, for both its car seat and stroller line.

The company uses GOTS Certified fabrics, which is a standard for organic textiles. “The Global Organic Textile Standard certifies fibers based on best practices through the whole production chain from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, and up to labeling,” says Nuna.

Nuna also uses organic cotton that is tested and approved with the OEKO-TEX Standard 100.

Most Nuna strollers like the Nuna Demi Grow are also certified GREENGUARD Gold, which certifies products have low chemical emissions.
