Is an UPPAbaby Stroller Worth It?
Yes.
Is an UPPAbaby stroller worth it? Yes, UPPAbaby strollers are worth the investment, in our opinion (we have spent the last 30 years researching and writing about baby gear—read more about us). Three reasons:
1. Premium materials and fit/finish quality. UPPAbaby uses premium wheels and suspension that enable smooth steering and maneuverability. Note the design touches like the extra large storage basket and large canopy—which are superior to other strollers in this price range.
2. Extended use. Models like the UPPAbaby Vista allow you to add a second seat for a sibling, turning the single stroller into a double.
3. Resale value. Thanks to the brand’s popularity, UPPAbaby strollers can be resold at roughly 40% to 50% of their retail price after three years, based on our analysis. This assumes normal wear and tear.
There have been three safety recalls on this brand in the past 20 years. Read more about UPPAbaby’s history on our sister site, StrollerWiki.

Is UPPAbaby Vista a jogging stroller?
No.
No, the UPPAbaby Vista is not a jogging stroller and isn’t designed for running.
UPPAbaby does make a model aimed at runners: the UPPAbaby Ridge. This tri-wheel stroller has a lockable front wheel that is useful for running and jogging.
Is UPPAbaby made in the USA?
No.
All UPPAbaby strollers are made in China. The company is headquartered in Rockland, MA.
Is UPPAbaby Vista compatible with car seats?
Yes & No.
The UPPAbaby Vista is compatible with UPPABaby’s own infant car seat (the UPPAbaby MESA series) without the need for adapters.
UPPAbaby also sells adapters for the following infant car seat manufacturers and models:
Chicco models: KeyFit 35, KeyFit 30, KeyFit 30 Zip, KeyFit 30 Zip Air, Fit2, Fit2 Air with adapter.
Clek Liing and Liingo (with adapters).

Here is a chart of infant car seats that work with the UPPAbaby Vista.
Is UPPAbaby's VISTA non-toxic?
Yes.
UPPAbaby does not treat their fabrics with flame retardants.
In a statement on their web site, the company says “all UPPAbaby products meet all applicable flame retardancy standards without these potentially harmful chemicals (brominated and chlorinated chemicals, like PBBs and PBDEs.)”
The only caveat to this standard is the foam that is used in UPPAbaby’s infant car seats. The company says “the foam that is underneath the fabric is treated to meet (flame retardancy standards), however, the composition does not include harmful chemicals.”
UPPAbaby also states that the leather accents used on the Vista’s handlebar are REACH certified.
“Being REACH certified means our leather tanning process is cognizant of the effects of chemicals and our tanneries regularly pass rigorous chemical compliancy testing.”
One caveat: none of UPPAbaby’s strollers are GREENGUARD certified, which tests products to be low in chemical emissions. Only UPPAbaby’s car seats and playard are GREENGUARD certified.
What is the difference between UPPAbaby Vista and V2?
In 2020, UPPAbaby debuted a revised version of the Vista, dubbed the UPPAbaby Vista V2.
The main differences between the original and V2 version are a bigger toddler seat, added sun protection and ventilation for the canopy and a no-rethread harness. The latter feature enables a parent to more easily adjust the harness for a growing child.
The Vista V2 also has an improved suspension system to give a smoother ride.
How long can you use the UPPAbaby Vista?
50 lbs.
The UPPAbaby Vista can be used from birth to 50 lbs., which is the weight limit of the seat. This is roughly age 5.
Is UPPAbaby Vista too heavy? Too big?
Yes & No.
The UPPAbaby Vista is a full-size stroller that weighs 26.6 lbs. This weight is about average for full-size strollers.
However, the most popular strollers sold in the US are lightweight models, which are generally under 20 lbs. (and ultralight models are under 15 lbs.). Hence, the Vista is much heavier than a lightweight stroller.
When folded, the UPPAbaby Vista is not compact: it measures 25.7”W x 17.3”L x 33”H. (Pro tip: measure your vehicle’s trunk to see if it will fit before ordering).
Is UPPAbaby Vista allowed at Disneyworld?
Yes, the UPPAbaby Vista is allowed at Disney World and Disneyland. Disney size requirements for strollers are no bigger than 31” wide, 52” long.
The UPPAbaby Vista is 25.7″ wide by 36″ long when open.
Is UPPAbaby better than Nuna?
Yes & No.
Both UPPAbaby and Nuna are premium brands that have a similar level of quality and features.
The most popular UPPAbaby model is the UPPAbaby Vista. The most direct Nuna competitor is the Nuna Demi Grow.
Although both strollers can accomodate a second child with an optional second seat, there are a couple of key differences:
• Bassinet. The Vista includes a bassinet, while the Demi Grow sells a bassinet as an optional accessory.
• Weight/bulk. While both strollers have a similar weight as single strollers, the Demi Grow weighs 35.4 lbs. with a second seat, while the UPPAbaby Vista weighs 32.6 lbs. with a second seat. When folded, the Demi Grow is about 6″ longer and 2″ higher than the UPPAbaby Vista.
In terms of popularity, the UPPAbaby Vista outsells the Nuna Demi Grow, although it has been on the market much longer.
Is the UPPAbaby Vista good for travel?
No.
Given the UPPAbaby Vista’s size and bulk, it is not a good choice for airline travel, in our opinion.
Most travel strollers are under 20 lbs. and several new models (dubbed ultracompact strollers) weigh under 15 lbs. and can fit in an overhead bin. These are much easier to take on a plane. Given the UPPAbaby Vista’s large size and bulk, it would have be gate-checked, which is not always the best choice given how airlines treat strollers.
If by travel, you mean via a vehicle, the Vista would be fine choice—if you have the trunk space on top of suitcases.
Does UPPAbaby go on sale?
Yes.
Yes, UPPAbaby strollers do go on sale—at least two to three times per year. Here are the key sales:
1. Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Held every July, this sale typically features more than one UPPAbaby stroller, at discounts ranging from 20% to 40%. See sale details here. We’ve also seen UPPAbaby on sale during Nordstrom’s spring sales.
2. Amazon Prime Day. Typically held in July, Amazon Prime Day can feature an UPPAbaby stroller or two, but typically the less popular models/fashions.
3. Black Friday/Cyber Monday. We have seen UPPAbaby strollers discounted during this time of the year—check key retailers like Amazon and Nordstrom.
4. When an older version is discontinued. Every 2-4 years, UPPAbaby will update their stroller models. The older version is then discontinued—and usually discounted from 10% to 30%. FYI: Older versions are just as safe as the new one—sometimes there is just a fashion (color) change or other minor improvements to the new model. Granted this is hit or miss: strollers are introduced and discontinued without any specific schedule.
