At our home test kitchen, we love popsicle molds that do double duty—popsicles in the summer and cake pops all year round. To accomplish this trick, we look for a sturdy silicone mold with a space for wooden sticks.

After trying out several different brands, we think this one is best: Ouddy Popsicle Molds. We liked these food-grade silicone molds that include wood sticks—excellent for cake pops, ice cream or popsicles.

What Needs Work

What Needs Work

Yes, there are a lot of popsicle molds out there for kiddos—but Tovolo makes our favorite. So cleverly designed—themed handles and a little surprise: after the popsicle is eaten, you’ll find a stick shaped like a skeleton. Great quality and easy to use and fill.

What Needs Work

• Not so great for smoothies or other thicker liquids.

When it comes to ice pops, our preference is for reusable molds—no wooden sticks needed. These are a favorite: Ozera’s are easy on the wallet, yet functional.

• Handles can break. Run them under warm water to loosen the plastic shell.
