Walmart debuts free baby boxes
Last updated: Walmart debuts free baby boxes. Walmart has debuted .free baby boxes with various goodies for pregnant moms, babies and toddlers. The box is free, but shipping is $5.
There are three different kinds of boxes: pregnancy, baby and toddler. If you sign up for the pregnancy box, you’ll get the baby and toddler boxes down the road when your baby hits that milestone (and pay $5 shipping per box). Hence, Walmart asks for your due date. According to the terms posted to the web site, you can cancel the subscription at any time from an online portal.
There is also a free Walmart Baby Registry Welcome box, which appears to be sold out at the time of this writing.
Walmart doesn’t reveal what is in each box, instead saying you get samples of “useful products and helpful tips.” We assume there will also be coupons.
If you’ve subscribed to this box, let us know what you think. What products did you get? Was it worth the $5 shipping in your opinion?
FYI: Don’t confuse these boxes with those Finnish-style baby boxes we have written about previously; those boxes are supposed to double as bassinets or cribs. The Walmart boxes are not designed for sleeping babies (thank goodness).
I signed up for this before my baby was born, for the pregnancy box. I can’t remember exactly what was in it because I got a few different baby boxes. But I do remember thinking it seemed less like a pregnancy box and more like a baby box. With that being said though, I also remember that I did very much feel like it was worth the $5 for shipping. Also, my baby was born in August, and I still have not received another box so I’m not sure how far apart they will be spaced. I feel like 6 months is a notable milestone and that I maybe should have gotten another box. Oh well though.
